There comes a point in life when you have to realize someone else's choices for their life are just that, their choices. You can't save them from their choices. Even if you know they are self-destructing. Even if every single time you talk to that person, you heart breaks into a million pieces for them. Even if that person is supposed to be your parent, the strong one. Even if that person has made you a million empty promises. There is not a single thing that you can do for them....because they've already lost everything and that wasn't enough to help them see what they were doing to themselves....to their family. You just have to accept it and move on. There's nothing you can do but pray for that person.
